The Challenge: Japan Skins - THE FORMAT
“I’m a huge fan of the skins format. I love the way it rewards attacking play”
– Rory McIlroy
The Challenge: Japan Skins will showcase Woods in a head-to-head skins competition against reigning FedExCup champion Rory McIlroy, Jason Day and Hideki Matsuyama.
The event introduces a long-awaited return to the "skins" format, in which each player tries to win every hole outright to earn the money value, or "skin," assigned to each hole. The skins' value escalates throughout the competition, leading to an exciting "super skin" finish under the lights.
